Johan Santana fanned 12 and threw 5 2/3 hitless innings before losing his no-hit bid and then allowing a two-run homer, but Brian Buscher drove in the winning run in the ninth to end a five-game losing skid. Jason Tyner hit his first career homer in the win.

Grady Sizemore's two-out double broke up Johan Santana's bid at a no-hitter after 5 2/3 innings, and Travis Hafner knotted the game at 2 with a two-run shot in the seventh, but Joe Borowski gave up the game-winner in the ninth. Jake Westbrook held Minnesota to two runs in seven innings.
