Aubrey Huff, Jay Gibbons and Corey Patterson each hit RBI doubles off Twins ace Johan Santana in a big fourth inning, but starter Erik Bedard gave up six earned runs in 4 2/3 innings of the Orioles' Opening Day loss in Minnesota. Miguel Tejada added a solo shot off Santana in the sixth inning.

Justin Morneau and Torii Hunter launched the Twins to a win over the Orioles in the opener, hitting back-to-back homers in the second inning and knocking in a total of four runs. Johan Santana gave up four earned runs in six innings, striking out six.
