7/27/2016 | Bumgarner takes another hard-luck loss

Taking a cue from his most recent start at AT&T Park -- a one-hit complete game against the D-backs --- Madison Bumgarner pitched eight dominant innings in the rubber game of the Giants' series with the Reds on Wednesday. But with the Giants' offensive struggles persisting, one mistake proved consequential, as Cincinnati used a Jay Bruce solo home run in the seventh inning to defeat the Giants, 2-1.

7/27/2016 | Bruce's homer spoils Bumgarner's strong start

Giants ace Madison Bumgarner has been excellent this season, but he can't do it all on his own. Despite his eight innings with two runs allowed, it was still enough to be overcome by the Reds, who left town with a 2-1 victory and two of three games in the series. San Francisco has lost nine of 11 games since the All-Star break.

7/27/2016 | Giants won't rush Pence back from rehab

According to the stat sheet, it would seem Hunter Pence is right at the doorstep of a return to the San Francisco Giants. But manager Bruce Bochy said Wednesday that the right fielder's output at the plate will have no effect on when the club chooses to activate him.

7/27/2016 | First-place Giants, Nats clash at AT&T Park

The Nationals and Giants begin a four-game series Thursday at AT&T Park in a matchup of two first-place teams that have struggled a bit since the All-Star break.

7/27/2016 | Giants hold off Reds after Cain's homer

In one month, the Giants have seen their formidable National League West lead shrink to a less comfortable cushion. Losing eight of nine games entering Tuesday certainly didn't help and made a 9-7 victory over the Reds all the more necessary. Their lead over the second-place Dodgers, which was seven games on June 24, remained at 2 1/2 games.

7/27/2016 | Giants claim second-longest sellout streak

With a paid attendance of 41,896 Tuesday night, the Giants surpassed the Cleveland Indians for the second-longest sellout streak in Major League Baseball history. Dating back to Oct. 1, 2010, the club has sold out 456 consecutive regular-season games at AT&T Park.

7/27/2016 | Dominant in daylight, Bumgarner to face Reds

Madison Bumgarner pitched a one-hit complete game in his last start before the All-Star break. But he's yet to earn a win since that performance, as the Giants continue to search for their footing in the second half of the season.

7/26/2016 | Cain provides own backing with 3-run homer

In his first appearance at AT&T Park since June 13, Matt Cain came to the plate in the second inning with runners on first and third and one out, and slugged a three-run homer to give the Giants a 4-0 lead vs. the Reds.

7/26/2016 | Belt benefits from lineup drop, return to basics

Giants first baseman Brandon Belt got back to seeing the ball first while batting sixth in the lineup Monday night, and it resulted in his first multi-hit performance since the break. Belt finished the game 3-for-4 with a two-run home run.

7/26/2016 | Pipeline preview: Mejia looks to extend streak again

Here's a look at top prospects to watch in Wednesday in Minor League action:

7/26/2016 | Big flies a big flaw for Giants pitching

For a team that doesn't rely on power offensively, the home run ball has increasingly mocked the Giants during the month of July. The latest example came Monday at normally pitcher-friendly AT&T Park, as the Cincinnati Reds used three two-run homers off Jake Peavy to defeat San Francisco, 7-5, and hand the club its eighth loss since the All-Star break.

7/25/2016 | Reds outslug Giants to win homer-filled game

With its spacious dimensions, AT&T Park will never be mistaken for Cincinnati's cozier and homer-abundant Great American Ball Park. But it certainly felt like its Midwest counterpart Monday as the teams combined for five home runs. It was Jay Bruce's two homers, however, that propelled the Reds to a 7-5 victory over the Giants.

7/25/2016 | Cain looking to get season on track vs. Reds

In his return from the disabled list last Wednesday, Matt Cain allowed five runs, including three home runs, in 2 1/3 innings against the Red Sox. He'll hope to minimize that type of damage in his next start against Cody Reed and the Cincinnati Reds at AT&T Park on Tuesday night.

7/25/2016 | Giants could get Panik, Pence back soon

The Giants began a seven-game homestand Monday that both Hunter Pence (hamstring) and Joe Panik (concussion) could rejoin the team for.

7/25/2016 | Trio of Diazes lead Prospect Team of the Week

The latest edition of MLBPipeline.com's Prospect Team of the Week (July 18-24) is led by a trio of Diazes in Isan Diaz, Yandy Diaz and Lewin Diaz, each of whom had big weeks for their respective clubs.

7/24/2016 | Lopez among top prospect performers Sunday

Nationals No. 5 prospect Reynaldo Lopez is among the top prospect performers in the Minors on Sunday.

7/24/2016 | Giants can't wrap forgettable trip on high note

As if the Giants were being mocked by irony or coincidence, the double play that halted their eighth-inning rally in Sunday's 5-2 loss to the Yankees was scored 4-1-5.

7/24/2016 | Giants continue to monitor relief market

With slightly more than a week left before the Aug. 1 non-waiver Trade Deadline strikes, the Giants remain active in their efforts to secure a reliever who could add experience as well as competence to their bullpen.

7/24/2016 | DeSclafani, Peavy set for opener at AT&T Park

The Reds and Giants are at the opposite ends of the National League standings. They've also had opposite starts coming out of the All-Star break, but it's the NL West leaders who are seeking to snap out of a recent funk when the teams begin a three-game series at AT&T Park on Monday night.

7/24/2016 | Beltran, Teixeira homer to back Eovaldi in win over Giants

Carlos Beltran and Mark Teixeira homered to support Nathan Eovaldi, who threw a season-high 118 pitches to lead the Yankees to a 5-2 victory over the Giants on Sunday at Yankee Stadium, securing a winning homestand for the club as it attempts to block out swirling trade speculation.

7/23/2016 | Williamson gets redemption with two big hits

Success often cannot be rushed, as Mac Williamson was reminded Saturday during the Giants' 2-1, 12-inning Interleague victory over the New York Yankees.

7/23/2016 | Rookie's 12th-inning hit snaps Giants' skid

Mac Williamson capped an eventful Saturday by drilling a 12th-inning, tiebreaking RBI single that propelled the Giants past the New York Yankees, 2-1, and ended San Francisco's six-game losing streak.

7/23/2016 | Yankees look to spoil Shark's Bronx debut

Jeff Samardzija was initially scheduled to start Saturday, but had his day on the hill swapped with Saturday's starter, Johnny Cueto, and will thus take the mound Sunday when he and the Giants take on Nathan Eovaldi and the Yankees.

7/23/2016 | Posey's bruised foot doesn't keep him out

Giants catcher Buster Posey dispelled any fears about his bruised right ankle by starting Saturday's game against the New York Yankees, less than 24 hours after sustaining his injury.

7/23/2016 | Williamson again comes through in pinch

Mac Williamson somehow has become inoculated from the illness that ails the Giants' hitters, particularly in critical situations. Williamson lined a pinch-hit double in Friday night's eighth inning off Yankees left-hander Andrew Miller, one of the relievers the Giants reportedly covet.
