Arcia expects to return to Twins' lineup Saturday

MINNEAPOLIS -- Twins outfielder Oswaldo Arcia is expected to be in the lineup for Saturday afternoon's game against the Astros.

He was not in Friday night's lineup after sustaining a mild right ankle sprain in Thursday night's game. But he ran and hit balls in the cage on Friday, and said he was feeling better.

"He was chirping pretty good about getting back in there," manager Ron Gardenhire said. "I think once we got him out on the field, he realized he's a little sore, but he's available."

Arcia was hurt in the sixth inning of Thursday night's 8-5 loss to the Brewers when he rolled his foot between second and third base. He got up and limped around before getting tagged out. The injury marred a night that began with a grand slam from the 23-year-old.

"It's not as bad as we were led to believe when he first went down out there," Gardenhire said. "We're lucky he didn't pop it really bad."

The manager said Arcia will be probably be the designated hitter on Saturday, and that he would be available to pinch-hit on Friday night. The second-year player is hitting .286 with four home runs through 15 games.
