This year's T-Mobile All-Star FanFest in Minneapolis will feature a series of giveaways and activities that showcase the Twin Cities and important baseball initiatives.
Each day from July 11-15 at the Minneapolis Convention Center will have a theme and corresponding giveaway, beginning with July 11's Opening Day/Kids Day. July 12 is Go "Green" Day, July 13 is Family Wellness Day, July 14 is Milestone Monday and July 15 is Tribute Tuesday. All giveaway terms and conditions can be found at AllStarGame.com.
Opening Day/Kids Day on the Friday of FanFest will feature children singing the national anthem to begin the party, and young people interviewing legends through social media, meeting team mascots and more. A number of "MVP" kids will be chosen at random to receive promotional items, as well as a T-Mobile JUMP! Lane Pass and a shirt. The first 1,000 eligible children 12 and under will receive a free TC Mini bobblehead.
The following day will showcase "green" initiatives and efforts by the city of Minneapolis, Major League Baseball, the Twins, the Convention Center and more. There will be a cell phone recycling program and prizes given for "green acts," while the first 1,000 fans will receive a free reusable bag.
Family Wellness Day on Sunday promotes wellness activities that families can enjoy together, such as yoga and a "Baseball Fit Camp" that teaches fundamentals and training aspects through agility drills, conditioning and strength training. Taco Bell Legends and Celebrity Softball Game participants will be warming up throughout the day, and the first 1,000 eligible children will receive a free collapsible water bottle.
July 14 will celebrate important dates in Twins and Minneapolis history, and will be highlighted by a Tony Oliva bobblehead giveaway for the first 1,000 fans. Twins legends from the 1987 and '91 World Series champion teams will be on hand to talk to fans and sign autographs.
The final day of FanFest will honor local heroes of the Twin Cities, including teachers, service men and women, community leaders and local neighbors who have "done outstanding work in his/her community." The first 1,000 eligible fans will receive a Joe Mauer bobblehead.
