Prospect Arcia expected to replace Ramirez

MINNEAPOLIS -- The Twins are reportedly calling up prospect Oswaldo Arcia from Triple-A Rochester before Monday's game against the Angels.

A Twins official said the club will wait until Monday to make an official roster announcement.

He'll replace outfielder Wilkin Ramirez, who was placed on the paternity list on Sunday and will be away from the team for three days.

Arcia, ranked as the club's fifth overall prospect by MLB.com, is off to a hot start this year in Triple-A. The 21-year-old is hitting .414 with three homers, two doubles, four walks and eight RBIs in nine games.

Arcia was the organization's Minor League Player of the Year in 2012, when he hit a combined .320/.388/.539 with 17 homers, 36 doubles and eight triples in 124 games split between Class A Advanced Fort Myers and Double-A New Britain.

The Minneapolis Star Tribune was the first to report that Arcia will be called up by the Twins.
