Twins and DNC Sportservice announce plans for Hrbek's at Target Field

Located behind home plate, the space pays tribute to Twins legend Kent Hrbek and will be open to all fans and feature plenty of food and drink

MINNEAPOLIS - ST. PAUL, Minn. - The Minnesota Twins, in conjunction with Delaware North Companies Sportservice (DNC Sportservice), today announced plans for Hrbek's at Target Field, an exciting new establishment which will feature the favorite food and drink of Twins Hall of Famer and Bloomington native Kent Hrbek.

Located at Gate 14 directly behind home plate at Target Field, Hrbek's will be open to all fans featuring an expansive outdoor patio, traditional "basket fare" along with full bar service. In addition, plans call for the space to feature a variety of Kent Hrbek-themed graphics and art while also paying tribute to every native Minnesotan to play for the Twins.

"I'm honored to have a place at Target Field where baseball fans can enjoy a beer and tasty food that is accessible to everyone," said Kent Hrbek, Twins legend. "This is an exciting time for Twins fans as we move into a great new ballpark with some great new food options. While we're still finalizing the menu, I know that Twins fans will enjoy what Hrbek's has to offer."

"Hrbek's is destined to become one of the signature attractions of Target Field," said Twins President Dave St. Peter. "The space will not only provide tremendous service, food and drink but it will be a wonderful tribute to one of the greatest players and characters in the history of the Twins franchise - Kent Hrbek."

Working closely with Kent Hrbek on the menu will be DNC Sportservice, Target Field's exclusive concessionaire which entered into a long-term partnership with the Twins in April of 2008. The complete menu for Hrbek's, as well as other Target Field restaurants and clubs, will be announced in early 2010.

Target Field, one of America's most urban ballparks, will be located in the historic Warehouse district of downtown Minneapolis. Site clearing began May 15, 2007 with actual construction commencing in August 2007. Designed by Populous (formerly HOK Sport) with Mortenson Construction serving as construction manager, the 40,000 seat ballpark is slated for completion prior to Opening Day 2010 and the cost of construction is $425 million.
