Twins outline new park ticket priority

Fans given opportunity to reserve future spot with current plans

MINNEAPOLIS -- The Twins, who are scheduled to move into their new ballpark in 2010, announced on Tuesday that fans can secure priority seating in the new stadium by purchasing an existing 2006 season-ticket plan.

Tenure as a Twins season-ticket holder will be a primary element in determining seat priority in the new ballpark, the club announced. The midseason packages essentially give fans another opportunity to be considered season-ticket holders for 2006 if they didn't make the purchase before the season started.

"No matter which plan fans choose, they establish themselves as a 2006 season-ticket holder and will have seating priority in the new ballpark," said Steve Smith, vice president of ticket sales and service. "The longer fans retain their season-ticket-holder status, the better priority they will establish."

Packages start at $200, and with the exception of the Flex 40 Voucher Plan, at least two seats must be purchased to secure new ballpark priority.

The Twins have 56 home games remaining this season. The club has series left with the Orioles, Red Sox, Cubs, Dodgers, Brewers, Indians, Devil Rays, Tigers, Rangers, Blue Jays, White Sox, Royals and A's.

Here are the details for the five ticket packages:

Balance of Season: Includes a ticket to all 56 remaining home games and is the only plan available in all seat locations, including lower-level seats behind home plate.

Terrace Suite Plan: A 20-game season-ticket membership in the new upscale suite that includes complimentary food, beer, wine, soft drinks and visits from Twins personnel and alumni. This plan is available only until June 5, 2006.

Flex 40 Voucher Plan: Build your own schedule with 40 good-any-game vouchers that may be redeemed in advance or on game day.

Pick-Your-Own Plan: Choose a minimum of 20 games to attend during the remainder of the season and receive a discounted ticket price, bobbleheads and a free scoreboard message.

Cheap Seats Special: Includes an upper general-admission ticket for all 56 remaining home games.

The new 42,000-seat, open-air, natural-grass ballpark will be located adjacent to the Target Center in the historic warehouse district of downtown Minneapolis. Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty signed the stadium bill on May 26, officially ending the organization's grueling wait for a new ballpark.
