The Minnesota Twins announced today that they have placed left-handed pitcher Francisco Liriano on the 15-day disabled list with a left posterior shoulder strain. He suffered the injury in today's game vs. the Orioles.
To replace Liriano on the 25-man roster, the Twins will recall left-handed pitcher Scott Diamond from Triple-A Rochester. Diamond, who is expected to make the start tomorrow night for the Twins, has appeared in 23 games (all starts) with the Red Wings, going 4-14 with a 5.56 ERA (123.0 ip, 76 er). Diamond made his Major League debut earlier this season, making one start allowing three earned runs in 6.1 innings, July 18 vs. Cleveland.
