The Minnesota Twins announced after today's game that they have placed right-handed pitcher Scott Baker on the 15-day disabled list with a right flexor strain. The move is retroactive to July 7.

The Twins will select the contract of left-handed pitcher Scott Diamond from Triple-A Rochester in time for tomorrow afternoon's game vs. the Cleveland Indians. In 17 starts for the Red Wings this season, he was 4-8, 4.70 (92.0 ip, 48 er), allowing 107 hits with 30 walks and 68 strikeouts. Diamond, who will wear uniform number 58, was selected by the Twins in the 2010 Rule 5 Draft.

In addition, the Twins will also recall left-handed pitcher Chuck James from Triple-A Rochester. In 26 appearances for the Red Wings this season, he was 1-1, 2.25 (40.0 ip, 10 er), allowing 29 hits with 18 walks and 48 strikeouts. James has also made four appearances for the Twins this season, tossing 5.0 scoreless innings with two walks and two strikeouts.

To make room for James on the 25-man roster, the Twins have optioned infielder Matt Tolbert to Triple-A Rochester.
