Minnesota Twins announce Spring Training invites
19 Non-Roster Players To Be In Camp

Minneapolis-St. Paul, MN - The Minnesota Twins announced today that they have extended spring training invites to 19 players who are not on the Major League roster.

The spring training invite list includes six pitchers: lefthander Phil Dumatrait, who has Major League experience with Cincinnati (2007) and Pittsburgh (2008-09), and Chuck James, who has spent parts of four seasons (2005-08) with Atlanta. Righthanders Yorman Bazardo, who has Major League experience with Florida (2005), Detroit (2007-08) and Houston (2009), Kyle Gibson, the Twins' first round pick (22nd overall) in the 2009 First-Year Player Draft, Carlos Gutierrez, the Twins' first round pick (27th overall) in the 2008 First-Year Player Draft, and Kyle Waldrop, the Twins' first round pick (25th overall) in the 2004 First-Year Player Draft.

Six catchers have been invited to camp: Jair Fernandez, who played at Single-A Ft. Myers, Double-A New Britain and Triple-A Rochester in 2010, Chris Hermann, the Twins' sixth round pick in the 2009 First-Year Player Draft, Steve Holm, who has Major League experience with San Francisco (2008-09), Danny Lehmann, the Twins' eighth round pick in the 2007 First-Year Player Draft, Danny Rams, the Twins second round pick in the 2007 First-Year Player Draft, and Rene Rivera, who has Major League experience with Seattle (2004-06).

Five infielders have been invited to camp: Matt Brown, who has Major League experience with the Los Angeles Angels (2007-08), Ray Chang, who was signed as a minor league free agent on December 13, 2010, Brian Dozier, the Twins' eighth round pick in the 2008 First-Year Player Draft, Justin Huber, who has Major League experience with Kansas City (2005-07), San Diego (2008) and Minnesota (2009), and Chase Lambin, who was signed by the Twins as a minor league free agent on November 16, 2010.

Two outfielders have been invited to camp: Jeff Bailey, who has Major League experience with Boston (2007-09), and Brian Dinkelman, the Twins' eighth round pick in the 2006 First-Year Player Draft.

In addition to 10 minor league staff members, the Major League staff will be joined by the following individuals during Spring Training: Tom Kelly, Tony Oliva and Terry Steinbach, as well as National Baseball Hall of Famers Rod Carew, Harmon Killebrew and Paul Molitor.

Twins' pitchers and catchers report to spring training in Fort Myers, Florida, on Thursday, February 17, with workouts beginning Friday, February 18, while the balance of the squad reports on Tuesday, February 22, with the first full-squad workout taking place Wednesday, February 23. The Twins annual photo day will be held Friday, February 25, at 8:00 am.

The Twins, who have a 29-game Grapefruit League exhibition schedule, will open their spring home season on Sunday, February 27 vs. the Boston Red Sox at 7:05 pm (EST).
