Twins add three players to 40-man roster

MINNEAPOLIS/ST. PAUL -- The Minnesota Twins announced today that they have added three players to their 40-man roster. Righthanded pitcher Bobby Korecky and infielders Matt Macri and Matt Tolbert were added, bringing the Twins total to 39 players on their 40-man roster.
Korecky, 28, was 5-6, 3.71 (85.0 ip, 35 er) with 35 saves, allowing 80 hits with 34 walks and 71 strikeouts in 66 appearances for Triple-A Rochester last season. His 35 saves and 66 appearances both led the International League in 2007. He has a career minor league record of 23-23, 3.13 (351.1 ip, 122 er) with 105 saves in 237 appearances. Korecky was acquired on December 16, 2003 as part of the trade in which the Twins sent Eric Milton to the Phillies in exchange for Carlos Silva and Nick Punto.
Macri, 25, batted .213 (10-for-47) with one double, three home runs and six rbi for Triple-A Rochester last season. Prior to being acquired from Colorado in exchange for Ramon Ortiz on August 15, Macri batted .298 (82-for-275) with 23 doubles, 11 home runs and 33 rbi in 79 games with Double-A Tulsa and .667 (6-for-9) with two doubles, one home run and four rbi in three games with Triple-A Colorado Springs.
Tolbert, 25, batted .293 (122-for-417) with 24 doubles, seven triples, six home runs and 53 rbi in 121 games for Triple-A Rochester last season. He was selected to play in the 2007 Triple-A All-Star Game as well as for the US Team in the 2007 MLB Futures Game. Tolbert was drafted by the Twins in the 16th round of the 2004 First Year Player Draft.
