MINNEAPOLIS -- The Minnesota Twins announced today that they have asked unconditional release waivers on outfielder Ruben Sierra. In 14 games with the Twins this season, Sierra batted .179 (5-28) with one double and four rbi. To replace Sierra on the 25-man roster, the Twins will make an additional roster move prior to Thursday night's game vs. Cleveland.
