TwinsFest 2004 set for this weekend
Over 50 current and former Twins are scheduled to appear at the Metrodome; single game tickets to 2004 home games on sale for first time on Friday; Rod Carew Hall of Fame plaque on display

    MINNEAPOLIS-ST. PAUL, MN -- TwinsFest 2004 is scheduled for Friday, January 23, through Sunday, January 25, at the Metrodome. More than 50 current, former and future Twins players -- including names such as Torii Hunter, Corey Koskie, Shannon Stewart, Jacque Jones, Johan Santana, Ron Gardenhire, Rod Carew, Harmon Killebrew, Bert Blyleven, Kent Hrbek and Tom Kelly -- will appear with fans throughout the weekend. TwinsFest hours are Friday from 5:30 - 9:30 p.m., Saturday 9 a.m. - 6 p.m., and Sunday 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.

    Presented by Dodge and your friendly Dodge Dealers, TwinsFest is a fund-raiser for the programs operated by the Minnesota Twins Community Fund. Since its inception in 1989, TwinsFest has raised nearly $2 million for programs and organizations supported by the Twins Community Fund.

    The Twins will launch single-game ticket sales for the 2004 season at TwinsFest on January 23 with the Friday show hours running from 5:30 - 9:30 p.m. Single-game tickets will also be on sale throughout the weekend on Saturday and Sunday.

    Among the attractions at TwinsFest 2004 will be a display from the National Baseball Hall of Fame, featuring Rod Carew's one-and-only Hall of Fame plaque direct from Cooperstown, NY. The display will be available for viewing throughout the weekend.

    Other event highlights include tours of the Twins clubhouse, auditions to sing the National Anthem prior to a 2004 Twins home game, silent and live auctions of sports collectables, the Upper Midwest's largest baseball card and collectables extravaganza, free youth baseball clinics instructed by current and former Twins and a baseball skills area featuring Speed Pitch, Run the Bases, MLB Yardball, batting cages and more.

    Tickets for TwinsFest 2004 are currently on sale. All paid admissions to TwinsFest will receive a free ticket for a 2004 regular season game and a copy of the 2003 Twins Yearbook (while supplies last). Admission prices are $7 in advance for adults ($10 at the door) and $3 in advance for children ($5 at the door). Tickets can be purchased by calling (612) 33-TWINS or 1-800-33-TWINS, visiting the Twins Pro Shops in Roseville, Apple Valley or Ridge Square, on the team's official web site at, or by visiting the Twins Metrodome box office. Twins Pro Shop store hours are 10 a.m. - 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. on Saturday and Noon - 5 p.m. on Sunday. Metrodome box office hours are 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
