Jeter's hit streak ends at 19 games
Shortstop goes 0-for-4 with a strikeout in series finale vs. Twins
MINNEAPOLIS -- Derek Jeter's season-long hit streak came to an end at 19 games on Wednesday.
Jeter went 0-for-4 with a walk and a strikeout in New York's 8-2 win over the Twins at Target Field.
The streak was Jeter's longest since he hit in 19 straight from May 5-25, 2007. Jeter last hit safely in 20 straight games from April 8-May 3 of that same year.
Jeter's 19-game streak was the longest hit streak by a Yankee in September since 1987.
