MINNEAPOLIS -- The Twins opened up a few spots on their 40-man roster on Friday, as they outrighted right-handed pitchers Julio DePaula and Oswaldo Sosa, catcher Ryan Jorgensen and infielder Sergio Santos to Triple-A Rochester.

Right-hander Pat Neshek was also reinstated from the 60-day disabled list, bringing the Twins' 40-man roster to 34 players.

Jorgensen, 27, was the only one of the four players outrighted who saw time in the Majors in 2008. He joined the team as a September callup and saw time in only two games for the Twins while recording just one at-bat. In 65 games for Rochester this past season, Jorgensen batted .247 with eight home runs and 25 RBIs.

DePaula, 25, went 3-5 with a 5.70 ERA in 51 appearances (five starts) for Rochester in 2008. The right-hander pitched 16 games for the Twins in 2007, going 0-1 with an 8.55 ERA. Sosa, 23, posted a 5.66 ERA this past season after splitting time between Class A Fort Myers and Double-A New Britain.

The Twins claimed Santos, 25, off waivers from the Blue Jays on May 13 to add infield depth at Rochester. The shortstop batted .242 in 86 games with a .279 on-base percentage.

Neshek missed the majority of the 2008 season after partially tearing a ligament in his right elbow on May 8. The right-hander, who went 0-1 with a 4.73 ERA in 15 relief appearances before the injury, is currently rehabbing in Fort Myers, Fla. The plan was for Neshek to throw for the first time off a mound this week and the expectation is that he will be ready in time for the start of Spring Training.
