Approved: Twins ballpark design set
Hennepin County commissioners vote 6-1 in favor of new site
Hennepin County commissioners voted 6-1 Tuesday without discussion to approve the design for the new downtown Minnesota Twins ballpark.
Longtime stadium opponent Penny Steele cast the only opposing vote.
Plans for the $390 million, 40,000-seat stadium now move to the Minneapolis Planning Commission and the City Council.
Construction has already started and the ballpark is expected to open in 2010.
