Play Ball! Minnesota Ambassador

Play Ball! Minnesota Ambassador Brian Raabe has had a very accomplished baseball career as a player, instructor and coach. His success as a player was a result of dedication, hard work and overcoming adversity.

As an undersized player from New Ulm, Minnesota, Raabe shined at the University of Minnesota where he was a four-time letterwinner and All-Big Ten and All-America honoree. Following the University of Minnesota, Raabe began a professional career, playing for the Minnesota Twins, Colorado Rockies, Seattle Mariners and Seibu Lions of the Japanese Pacific League. Raabe was a six-time Minor League All-Star and batting champion.

However, it is Raabe's success as a leader, mentor, instructor and coach that makes him the Play Ball! Minnesota Ambassador.

Raabe has been a key figure in youth baseball for a number of years. He has been a head coach at the youth, high school and collegiate levels. He has helped shape a baseball association from teaching coaches to leading an administration. Raabe has great experience and insight to help promote and improve youth baseball and softball.

As part of being the Play Ball! Minnesota Ambassador, Raabe is responsible for:

  • Designing and instructing the Play Ball! Minnesota Coaching Clinics.
  • Developing the program for the Play Ball! Minnesota Coaches Conference.
  • Instructing at various Play Ball! Minnesota Youth Clinics.
  • Traveling to promote Play Ball! Minnesota.
  • Providing helpful tips for players and coaches in our resources section.
