Receive major league instruction and learn to play baseball the Twins way at Twins Training Camps! Twins Training Camps provide players an opportunity to continue to develop their skills and keep training during their summer baseball seasons.
The mission of the Minnesota Twins Baseball Training Camps is to provide Upper Midwest youth with quality baseball instruction at an affordable price in a safe and encouraging atmosphere.
Twins Training Camps cater to athletes wanting to improve their baseball skills in a serious instructional setting. Twins personnel as well as top college and high school coaches will provide daily instruction. The instructional staff is very experienced and dedicated to helping youth develop their skills. A large and experienced staff ensures a low player-to-coach ratio, so players receive the attention they need to develop. Along with a group of the region's best coaches, National Baseball Hall of Famer Rod Carew will be on hand as a special instructor!
The 2012 summer edition of Twins Training Camps features four, two-day camps in Fargo, ND; Minnetonka, MN; Arden Hills, MN and Red Wing, MN. Also in 2012, Twins Training Camps will operate three, one-day camps, at the home of the Twins, Target Field! These camps will allow participants to play on the same state-of-the-art field as the Minnesota Twins.
Twins Training Camps are open to youth ages 8 to 18. Camps address general baseball skills including hitting, defense, throwing, pitching, strength & conditioning and mental skills. Players will go through hitting drills designed to correct flaws and improve swings; defensive drills including infield and outfield work; and throwing drills designed to teach players the correct way to throw to gain velocity, accuracy and avoid arm injuries. For younger players, emphasis is placed on fundamentals and intermediate skills. For players over 13 years old, instructors will introduce and focus on more advanced training.
