CARL R. POHLAD AWARD

Every season the Twins Community Fund selects a player who best exemplifies the Twins' late owner's passion and commitment to the Community.

The 2010 winner is Jesse Crain, who was honored for his work with the Courage Center, a nonprofit rehabilitation center for disabled youth and adults. Jesse and his wife Becky serve as hosts and honorary co-chairs of the Courage Center's 5K Your Way event, and the Crains spend time visiting with Courage Center residents at both Camp Courage and the rehabilitation center.

KIRBY PUCKETT AWARD

Every season the Twins Community Fund selects a former Twins player who gives back to the community in retirement in the same spirit as Kirby did during and after his playing days.

The 2010 winner is Bert Blyleven, who was honored for his work to fight Parkinson's Disease. Bert's father passed away from Parkinson's Disease in 2004. In the wake of his father's illness, Bert has strived to raise funds to fight the disease, as well as raise awareness, in both Minnesota and his home of Florida. Bert raises funds through the sale of his autograph, through public appearance fees, and by selling the popular "Circle Me Bert" bobble head doll. Bert also serves as a spokesman for the Parkinson's Association of Minnesota and acts as their honorary walk chair.
