2012 Holiday Week of Giving

Holiday Giving

The Minnesota Twins have announced plans for the seventh annual Holiday Week of Giving, when the organization focuses on giving back to the community during the holiday season. This year's week of activities runs from Monday, December 12 through Friday, December 16.

Twins pitcher Glen Perkins, former players Tony Oliva and Rod Carew will join the Twins front office staff in events benefiting a variety of community causes.

A brief description of each event is listed below:

Monday, Dec. 12 / 5 - 7 p.m.
People Serving People Holiday Party - Twins staff, former players Tony Oliva and Rod Carew and Twins' mascot TC will hold their annual holiday party for families staying at the shelter.

Tuesday, Dec. 13 / 2:30 - 3:30 p.m.
Feed My Starving Children in Coon Rapids - Twins pitcher Glen Perkins, Twins staff and Mascot TC will help pack "Manna Packs" for people in-need of food in developing nations around the world.

Wednesday, Dec 14 / 4 - 6 p.m.
Boys & Girls Clubs - Twins staff will visit the Southside Club in Minneapolis and the Lenzmeier West Side Club in St. Paul to assist staff with daily activities and games.

Thursday, Dec. 15 / 1 - 3 p.m.
Visiting Disabled Veterans - Twins staff, alumni and TC will visit the VA Hospital and a VA Day center to spread holiday cheer among disabled veterans.

Friday, Dec. 16 / 1 - 3 p.m. Centro Community Center - Twins staff, alumni and TC will visit the Centro Community Center in Minneapolis to assist in their food shelf, help with preschoolers and paint.
