Twins 2008 Holiday "Week of Giving"
The Minnesota Twins have organized a week of events designed to help those in-need during this Holiday Season. Twins manager Ron Gardenhire, current Twins players, Hall of Famer Harmon Killebrew, Twins legend Tony Oliva, Twins mascot T.C., and Twins front office staff will all come together to participate in this schedule of events assisting worthy causes during the Holiday Season.
Monday, Dec. 15
Courage Center Youth Baseball Clinic – 6-8 p.m. – Twins front office staff will assist Twins clinicians and Harmon Killebrew in teaching baseball skills to disabled youth at the Courage Center in Golden Valley.
Tuesday, Dec. 16
People Serving People Holiday Party – 4-6 p.m. – Twins front office staff, Ron Gardenhire and T.C. will serve dinner to the residents of the temporary housing facility. The Twins will also provide gifts to the child residents. Ron and T.C. will conclude the evening by reading a book and taking pictures.
Wednesday, Dec. 17
South Haven Senior Residence – 3-5 p.m. – Twins staff and Tony Oliva will visit residents of the affordable housing community for seniors. They will provide snacks and gifts to the residents and visit with them on a one-on-one basis.
Thursday, Dec. 18
Neighborhood House – 4:30-7:30 p.m. – Twins staff and Tony Oliva will deliver donated food items to the St. Paul organization and help serve a turkey dinner to area residents.
Friday, Dec. 19
Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Greater Twin Cities Metrodome Holiday Party – 7-9 p.m. – The Minnesota Twins will once again host Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Greater Twin Cities holiday party at the Metrodome. Youth will be treated to free food, games, a bike safety demonstration and receive a very special surprise.
