The Program
The Twins Community Fund Diamonds and Dreams Scholarship Program will grant scholarships of $2,000 each to up to 20 high school seniors pursuing post secondary education.
This scholarship program is administered by Scholarship Management Services, a division of
Scholarship America. Scholarship Management Services is the nation's largest designer and
manager of scholarship and tuition reimbursement programs for corporations, foundations,
associations and individuals. Awards are granted without regard to race, color, creed, religion,
sexual orientation, gender, disability or national origin.
Eligibility
Applicants to the Minnesota Twins Community Fund Diamonds and Dreams Scholarship Program must be -
- U.S. residents, residing in one of the following states: Minnesota, Iowa, North Dakota, South Dakota, Wisconsin, or southwest Florida.
- High school seniors who plan to enroll in a full-time undergraduate course of study at an accredited two- or four-year college, university, or vocational-technical school. Students planning to participate in a collegiate baseball/softball program should check eligibility and/or scholarship restrictions at their school.
- Have a minimum grade point average of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale (or its equivalent).
- Participants (player or volunteer) with an organized youth baseball or softball organization.
Employees of the Minnesota Twins, Scholarship America, their subsidiaries, affiliates,
advertising and promotion agencies and their immediate family (spouses, parents, children
or siblings and their spouses) and persons living in the same household of such employees,
who are employed at the time of application are ineligible to receive a scholarship.
Awards
The authorized distribution for new awards is $40,000. Up to 20 awards of $2,000 each will be
granted.
Awards are one-time only and are for undergraduate study only.

Selection of Recipients
In selecting recipients, consideration will be given to those who have participated (team managers
or volunteers will also be considered) with a baseball or softball team (High School or Organized
Recreation League), been involved in community service and/or volunteer work, and have received
leadership awards and honors in school and community activities. Consideration will also be given
to academic record and financial need. Preference will be given to students who demonstrate
need.
The first 150 applications received will be considered.
A minimum of one award is designated for a participant in the R.B.I. program (Reviving Baseball in
Inner-City conducted by the Minnesota Twins and the St. Paul and Minneapolis Parks and
Recreation Departments) given there are eligible applicants.
Payments of Scholarships
On behalf of the Minnesota Twins Community Fund, Scholarship Management Services will
process scholarship payments. A check will be mailed to each recipient's home address on
Aug. 15. Checks are made payable to the school for the student.
Obligations
Recipients have no obligation to the Minnesota Twins Community Fund other than attendance at a
Twins event for award presentation, if scheduled. They are, however, required to notify
Scholarship Management Services of any changes in address, school enrollment, or other relevant
information and to send a complete transcript when requested. Except as described in these
guidelines, no obligation is assumed by the Minnesota Twins Community Fund.
Revisions
The Minnesota Twins Community Fund reserves the right to review the conditions and procedures
of this scholarship program and to make changes at any time including termination of the program.
