Twins ballpark legislation passes Minnesota House.

May 21, 2006
Twins ballpark legislation passes Minnesota Senate.

Minnesota ballpark authority officially formed.

May 26, 2006
Governor Tim Pawlenty signs ballpark bill in on-field ceremony prior to a Twins game.

January 2007
The Minnesota Ballpark Authority (MBA) recommends shifting Burlington Northern Santa Fe (BNSF) active rail line to create a corridor for the Cedar Lake Bike Trial to pass through the ballpark site.

February 2007
Schematic Design unveiling delayed over uncertainty regarding the site acquisition process.

The project's Construction Manager, Mortenson Construction, reports that pile driving for the ballpark foundation needs to start in late August to stay on schedule for an April 2010 opening.

March 2007
The MBA, Minnesota Twins and Hennepin County negotiate the final details for the Development Agreement, the Lease and Use Agreement and the Grant Agreement for the ballpark.

April 2007
The Hennepin County Board votes to proceed with condemnation of the ballpark site.

Schematic Design is unveiled to the public; plans are approved by the MBA and the Hennepin County Board, including the initial recommendations of the City-County Implementation Committee.

Work commences on the demolition of the 5th Street bridge abutment to allow for the BNSF track relocation. Project team is formally announced - HOK/Mortenson/HGA.

May 2007
Mortenson Construction is mobilized on site and begins clearing the land for construction.

June 2007
Final Environmental Impact Statement is determined to be adequate by the Hennepin County Board.

July 2007
Northstar Project begins demolition of the south half of the 5th Street bridge as part of the future Hiawatha LRT extension.

August 2007
Pile driving begins on schedule.

The ballpark groundbreaking ceremony is held on August 30 after begin postponed due to the I-35W bridge collapse on August 1.

September 2007
The first tower crane goes up on the site.

BNSF track relocation work commences.

HOK presents the City-County Implementation Committee with new renderings that add transparency and animation to the ballpark design at street level.

October 2007
A settlement is reached on the cost to acquire the ballpark site; the Twins additional contribution of $15 million is also announced.

Ballpark model and updated renderings are unveiled to the public.

BNSF completes track relocation work.

November 2007
Detailed construction plans are approved by the MBA and the Hennepin County Board.

A second tower crane goes up on the site.

Vertical column placement for the ballpark continues for the right field mezzanine.

The Northstar Project completes placing new 5th Street bridge girders, and the first deck is poured.

February 2008
Twins commit incremental $22.4 million to cover cost of various design enhancements.

January - December 2008
Concrete pours on concourse and club levels.

Bridge/Plaza structure concrete pours.

Construction over BNSF rail road tracks continues.

January - December 2009
Steel and glass installation.

January - June 2009
Final concrete placement - (Topping off celebration to occur).

July - December 2009
Install playing field.

Finish building enclosure.

March-April 2010
Ballpark construction is completed.

Opening Day 2010.
