Twins TV analyst Bert Blyleven has made a habit of circling lucky fans with his telestrator during broadcasts, leading to lots of “Circle Me Bert” signs at Target Field.
That tradition expanded to Pittsburgh on Thursday, when a caravan of more than 40 Minnesota fans made the 14-hour bus trip from Winona, Minn., to watch the Twins take on the Pirates at PNC Park.
“We left Winona around 5:30 in the morning and had a bus full of people who all slept and found other ways to entertain themselves,” said Darrell Monson, owner of a travel service and organizer of the baseball adventure.
Although the Twins lost, 9-1, the entire group was pleased with the trip and amazed by what many call the best ballpark in America.
And yes, they did get circled by Bert.
