Twins acquire Paul Bargas from Rockies 12/16/2010 6:00 PM ETMLB.com
Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN - The Minnesota announced today that they have acquired left-handed pitcher Paul Bargas from the Colorado Rockies in exchange for catcher Jose Morales. Bargas, 22, was 5-4, 3.59 (67.2 ip, 27 er) with five saves, allowing 57 hits with 19 walks and 64 strikeouts in 58 appearances with Single-A Asheville in 2010. He was originally selected by Colorado in the 13th round of the 2009 First-Year Player Draft out of the University of California-Riverside. Morales, 27, batted .194 (7-for-36) with two doubles and seven rbi in 19 games with the Twins in 2010. He also appeared in 73 games with Triple-A Rochester, batting .264 (68-for-258) with 19 doubles, one triple, three home runs and 25 rbi.
