Minnesota Twins Announce Target Field Enhancements for 2011 Enhancements aimed at improving experience and ballpark aesthetics for all fans The Minnesota Twins in conjunction with the Minnesota Ballpark Authority, POPULOUS, Oslund & Associates and Mortenson Construction, today announced a series of enhancements to Target Field, all of which will be in place for the 2011 baseball season. Already cited for the Best Stadium Experience in all professional sports by ESPN The Magazine, the Twins continue to maintain Target Field as one of America's best sporting venues. "Dating back to the original design process and underscored throughout the Inaugural 2010 season, the Twins remain focused on enhancing the overall game-day experience for all fans; ensuring the ballpark's beauty, connectivity and symmetry with the surrounding neighborhood, city and region; and celebrating the wonderful heritage and tradition of Twins baseball," said Jerry Bell, President of Twins Sports Inc. ABOUT TARGET FIELD Target Field, one of America's most urban ballparks, is located in the historic Warehouse District of downtown Minneapolis. ESPN The Magazine has ranked Target Field as the best stadium experience in all professional sports in North America. Designed by POPULOUS with Mortenson Construction serving as construction manager, the 39,504 seat ballpark was completed prior to Opening Day 2010 at a construction cost of $440 million. In 2006, the Minnesota Ballpark Authority (MBA) was created to oversee the design, construction, and operation of the ballpark. The MBA owns the ballpark site and the facility on behalf of the public.The Twins and Target Corporation announced a historic 25-year naming agreement for Target Field and Target Plaza on September 15, 2008.
